Waimea Logistic Park Port Morski Szczecin - a modern logistic centre in the Szczecin Seaport

The Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority and Waimea Holding S.A. concluded a contract for the lease of land and development of a modern logistic centre in the port of Szczecin. The contract ended a procedure of selecting a lessee for the Western Pomerania Logistic Centre. This should result in the establishing of a modern logistic centre of ‘Waimea Logistic Park Port Morski Szczecin’ providing nearly 45,000 m2 of top notch warehouse space.

Hungarian gate to the Baltic

In April, the Hungarian companies had the opportunity to get information about the potential of the West Pomeranian region and the ports of Szczecin-Swinoujscie for the logistics industry, at a seminar organized by the Polish Embassy in Budapest. In the capital of Hungary, ports of Szczecin-Swinoujscie as well as the region had presentation titled "West Pomerania, Your Gateway to Scandinavia - Find the shortest route to the markets of Northern Europe." The meeting was aimed at the promotion of logistics centers in West Pomerania province, handling and investment offer of both ports and intermodal transport, which could help in the development of trade between Hungary and Scandinavia as well as the Baltic Sea region.

Polish Inland Shipping 2016

On 23 rd March 2016 the fifteenth Pre-navigable Debate entitled "Polish Inland Shipping 2016” took place in the port of Szczecin.

Ship commissioning ceremony for ‘Strażak-26’ and ‘Hydrograf-4’

At the Tureckie Quay in the Szczecin Seaport, the commissioning ceremony took place for two vessels ‘Strażak-26’ and ‘Hydrograf-4’. Additionally, for ‘Strażak-26’ the ceremony coincided with its naming. Since Świnoujście is the home port for the vessel, Zyta Żmurkiewicz, the spouse of the Mayor of Świnoujście, became the godmother for the ship.

Demand and supply along the Oder Waterway

In the context of investment planned, the economic potential of Oder was discussed during the visit of Jerzy Materna, the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation, to the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority on 22nd January this year. Apart from representatives of the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority, other participants of the discussion included Jan Stasiak and Zbigniew Antonowicz representing the Szczecin Seaport Stakeholder Council, Captain Krzysztof Woś, the Director of the Szczecin based Inland Shipping Authority. 

Cargo handling in 2015

In 2015, the actual cargo handling in ports of Szczecin and Świnoujście was close the previous year. Both ports together handled 23,174 thousand tons of cargo.

New scheduled container service in the Szczecin-Świnoujście ports complex

The port of Szczecin included Seago Line, a Danish operator, in its network of container services. The first call took place on 12th January this year.

A new firefighting boat “STRAŻAK-26” already in the port

On 10th January a new firefighting boat "STRAŻAK-26" purchased by the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority entered the port of Szczecin and moored at the Tureckie (Turkish) Quay .
